Giza pyramids tours at a glance
Most Giza tours fall into three kinds: a half day on the plateau, a full day that adds the Grand Egyptian Museum, and a day trip to Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur. A private half-day tour takes about 4 hours including transfers. It goes to the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Ask before you book whether the Great Pyramid interior can be added if you want to go inside.
Prices below are per person for single private offers in 2026. Group size changes the price a lot, and tips and extras are usually not included.

Our picks: guided pyramid tours
Our take: the private tour with a camel ride is the most booked and covers entry, guide and ride. The half-day tour suits a short stay, and the group option is the budget choice.

Tour examples compared
Three kinds of trip in 2026. Each row is one provider's product.
| Tour | Length | Price | Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private half day: Giza and the Sphinx | About 4 hours | Per person: $180 alone, $106 for two, $82 for three, $77 for four, $74 for five, $71 for six | Hotel transfer, private vehicle, English-speaking Egyptologist, named entrance fees, water, taxes |
| Private full day: Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum | About 8 hours | Per person: $352 alone, $246 for two, $186 for six | Hotel transfer, English-speaking guide, named entrance fees, lunch, water, taxes, shopping stops |
| Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur day trip | About 8 hours | $100 to $120 in total for two people (group price) | Driver, air-conditioned car, guide, pickup; entrance fees, meals and tips not included |
The half-day and full-day rates apply until 30 April 2027. Pickup from Heliopolis or the 6th of October area adds $10 per person. For the half-day tour, children under 6 go free, children aged 6 to 11 pay half, and from 12 years the full price applies. Some offers advertise prices from $49, so compare what is included before you choose. For most first-time visitors with one free morning, the private half day is the simplest choice, and the price per person falls quickly in a group of four to six.
What to compare before you book
The wording differs more than the prices do.
Transfer
Check whether the price includes a hotel pickup and the return, and which areas cost extra. Pickup from Heliopolis or the 6th of October area is a $10 supplement per person in the example above.
Guide language
The examples above use English-speaking guides. If you need another language, ask the provider before you book and confirm it in writing.
Entrance fees and interior tickets
Look for the entrance fees named in the offer. The Great Pyramid interior is an extra ticket, EGP 1,000 or EGP 1,500 for adults, and neither full-day nor half-day example promises it. See the tickets page for the amounts.
The Grand Egyptian Museum
The museum is about 2 km from the plateau. Museum tickets and transfers should appear as separate lines. The museum page covers hours and booking rules.
Meals and shopping stops
The full-day example lists lunch and shopping stops. The Saqqara trip does not include meals. Decide whether you want shopping stops in your day.
How much fits in one day
Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum fit into one full day. Adding the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and Old Cairo makes the day long, so look at the Cairo day tour page before you combine them.
Going without a tour
The plateau works on your own too.
Foreign adults pay EGP 700 for the plateau and students EGP 350, with the interiors extra. The main entrance is now on the Fayoum Highway south of the pyramids, and an electric shuttle replaces private cars on the plateau. A tour handles that for you, while an independent visit gives you more freedom if you are comfortable with taxis and a bank card. Read the tips page for touts, heat and timing.
Giza pyramids tours: frequently asked questions
How much does a Giza pyramids tour cost?
One private half-day offer costs $180 for a single traveler and $71 per person in a group of six. A full day with the Grand Egyptian Museum is $352 for one person and $186 per person for six. These are single examples for 2026, and group size drives the price.
How long is a half-day tour?
About 4 hours including transfers. That is the length of the tour, not a required time on the plateau.
Does a tour include the Great Pyramid interior?
The half-day and full-day examples name the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, and do not promise the interior. If you want to go inside, ask for it before you book, since it is an extra ticket.
Are tips and extras included?
No. Tips and extras are excluded in the examples above, and so are meals on the Saqqara trip.
Can children join a tour?
Rules depend on the product. In the half-day example, children under 6 go free, children aged 6 to 11 pay half and from 12 years the full price applies.
