Pyramids of Giza tickets at a glance
One ticket opens the Giza Plateau for foreign visitors: EGP 700 for adults and EGP 350 for students, as of 2026. It does not cover the inside of the Great Pyramid, Khafre or Menkaure, the tomb of Meresankh or the workers' cemetery. Those need their own tickets. Children under 6 enter free, and students up to 24 need a student ID.
You can buy tickets online or at the site. Bring a working bank card, because card payment is the rule and cash is not guaranteed. If you want transfer, guide and entry in one price, the offers below include entrance fees, so check each one for what is covered.

The Great Pyramid interior ticket has been priced at EGP 1,000 and at EGP 1,500 for adults, so check the current amount at the ticket office before you queue. For most first-time visitors, the plateau ticket alone covers the pyramids, the Sphinx and the viewpoint. Add the Great Pyramid if you want to go inside, or the Khafre interior if you want a cheaper way in.
Vehicle fees are posted at EGP 25 for a car or taxi, EGP 50 for a microbus, EGP 75 for a coaster and EGP 100 for a bus. Since the entrance moved, ask your driver where vehicles stop.
Hours and entry rules
What to expect at the gate.
Opening hours
The plateau is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For the Great Pyramid and Menkaure, hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. apply. Last entry is around 4 p.m. In Ramadan the day is shorter, with an 8 a.m. start and last entry at 3:30 p.m. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on 9 February, depending on the moon sighting. Check the posted hours at the gate.
The new entrance
Since April 2025 the main entrance is on the Fayoum Highway south of the pyramids, replacing the old gate near the Marriott Mena House. It is not an entrance inside the Grand Egyptian Museum. The old gate is no longer the way in, so ask at the check-in if someone tells you a gate is closed.
Getting there โElectric shuttle
Private cars and tour buses no longer cross the plateau. Visitors and guides change to electric vehicles, and the shuttle is part of the plateau ticket.
Card payment
Card payment instead of cash was introduced in Giza in 2023, and it still applies. Carry a bank card that works abroad and do not count on paying cash.
What the ticket covers
The plateau ticket includes the Sphinx area and a viewpoint over the pyramids. You do not need a camel to reach the monuments.
Sphinx guide โTicket only or a tour?
Both work. The question is what you want to arrange yourself.
With a ticket alone, you handle the transfer, the walking and the extras. A tour adds a hotel transfer, a guide and, in the examples on the tours page, named entrance fees. A private half-day tour of about 4 hours costs from $71 per person in a group of six to $180 for one traveler in one private offer. The route covers the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Ask before you book whether the Great Pyramid interior can be added if you want to go inside.

Do not count on it. Card payment has been the rule in Giza since 2023, so bring a bank card that works abroad.
