Grand Egyptian Museum tickets at a glance
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) stands close to the Giza plateau, about 2 km from the pyramids. It opened officially on 1 November 2025. The Tutankhamun collection is shown together there for the first time, and the visit also covers the main galleries, the Grand Hall, the Grand Staircase, the Khufu's Boats Museum and the grounds.
A foreign adult ticket costs EGP 1,500 or EGP 1,570 in 2026. An increase to EGP 1,830 is announced from 1 November 2026. Tickets are linked to a date and time, are tied to the named visitor and cannot be transferred. The museum's own booking site is its official online ticket channel.

Our picks: Grand Egyptian Museum
Our take: the full day with the pyramids, lunch and both entries is the best value for a first visit. The plain ticket suits you if you go on your own, and the ticket with optional guide sits in between.

Booking rules and photos
Pick your date and time when you book. The slot is binding. Tickets are personal, cannot be passed on and are generally not refundable. Entry is once only, so you cannot leave and come back in on the same ticket.
Private photos are generally allowed. In marked parts of the Tutankhamun galleries there are limits. Flash, tripods, selfie sticks, drones and live streaming are not allowed.

Combine the museum with the pyramids
The plateau and the museum are separate sites with separate tickets. Do not count on a short walk between the two entrances. Plan a transfer instead, or choose a tour that covers both. One full-day tour that links Giza and the GEM takes about 8 hours.
On a day trip, do the pyramids first. The plateau is open from 08:00 to 16:00, and the museum stays open later, up to 22:00 for the complex on Wednesday and Saturday. Read our pyramids ticket guide for plateau prices, or see Giza tours for guided options.
